DVD upconversion via HDMI™ Video Upconversion - 720p/1080i Definition: HDMI™ can support uncompressed digital video up to HDTV resolution. Thus the player makes use of this conduit by up-converting the standard DVD picture resolution of 720p or 1080i. This makes a DVD player with an HDMI™ connection the perfect match for today's digital televisions. And because this conversion is performed in the player, the signal remains free frome excessive digital to analog artifacts.
DVD-RAM/DVD-R Recorder Benefit: DVD-RAM is a high-capacity, high-performance optical disk that allows data to be read, written, erased, and rewritten more than 100,000 times. DVD-RAM offers all the benefits of DVD including high-capacity, (double-sided: 9.4 GB total storage), high speed (x2/x4/x8 dubbing from HDD to DVD-RAM) and backwards, maintaining the integrity of the MPEG2 digital signal. DVD-RAM is re-writeable, offers quick access with high-quality images and sound.
WMA & MP3 Playback Benefit: Play recordable Compact Discs (CD-R & CD-RW) with music stored in either the Windows Media™ Audio or MP3 file formats can be enjoyed.
EASY NAVI Menu Benefit: An entry menu portal that provides quick and easy access to key features of the DVD recorder, such as Timer Recording or DV Capture. Additionally the EASY navi displays a "live action window", providing feedback to the user on the current status of the recorder, whether it is recording a program, in the Time Slip mode, or playing back content with DVD-RAM.
Time Slip Recording/Playback Definition: This feature allows the user to begin watching a recording that is already in progress. A Time Slip feature lets you 'pause' a live recording and then return to it later. During playback of both modes, a bar graph can be displayed on-screen depicting the 'progress' or location of the playback signal in relation to the real time recorded signal.
Front Panel A/V & IEEE1394DV Inputs Benefit: There are composite audio & video inputs, as well as RCA L/R inputs on the front panel of the unit for easy camcorder dubbing. Additionally, an IEEE1394 'Firewire' jack is also available on the front panel for interfacing compatible digital video camcorders. Provides automatic recognition of the device and on-screen menu controls to easily direct the "downloading" process with the recorder’s remote control.
