Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C., (Toshiba) long a leader in DVD and storage devices is proud to introduce the new gigastyle™ family of products this year. gigastyle combines innovative storage with simplicity and seamlessness for the consumer. gigastyle means more music, more video, more control and more options - all with sleek, innovative designs. gigastyle will be a family of products; from portable audio players and camcorders to DVD-Recorders -- all are designed to make the entertainment experience easier, and more entertaining.

"Clearly there is a huge opportunity for Toshiba to leverage its brand and investment in TV and Digital Audio Video as well as digital storage arenas to offer consumers complimentary products that help maximize their entertainment experience," said Yoshi Uchiyama, Group Vice President, Toshiba America Consumer Products Digital A/V Group. "By focusing on connectivity and ease of use, we are enabling users to easily share their favorite content across any device whether it's based on a home or portable device."

gigabeat™ - Digital Audio Players
Later this year, Toshiba's gigastyle family will introduce the gigabeat digital audio player. Combining large capacity 10GB, 20GB, 40GB and 60GB hard drives with an incredibly sharp QVGA color LCD screen, all four new gigabeat models are designed to offer more storage while maintaining an experience that is incredibly easy to use. Every model in the gigabeat family offers the large 2.2 inch QVGA color LCD screen for viewing of JPEG photos and album cover art if available. Toshiba's new "Plus Touch" sensor lets the user manage their entire music and photo collection quickly and easily.

The Toshiba gigabeat family offers consumers more downloading options. While gigabeat comes supplied with Toshiba's "gigabeat Room" media management software, users have the option of using management software that they are most comfortable with and, it will also play authorized MP3, WMA or WAV tracks.

gigabeat also offers a new and quick way of loading music. With new features such as "Rip Rec™", an entire CD can be ripped onto gigabeat at the push of a button. Just place a CD in the PC's tray, press "Rip Rec" and gigabeat does the rest.

gigabeat comes supplied with a 12 hour Rechargeable battery and can be recharged by simply connecting to a PC via the included USB cable or the supplied A/C adapter.

As the first members of the gigastyle family, gigabeat models will be available in 4 capacities - 10GB in silver, blue and black at $299 (MEG-F10), 20GB in silver and black brushed aluminum finish at $349 (MEG-F20), 40GB in a brushed aluminum champagne finish (MEG-F40) and the 60GB model in a "platinum" brushed aluminum finish at $549 (MEG-F60).
