To ensure the safety of our customers and to maintain the integrity and quality of our products, Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. is issuing an important safety alert.

Toshiba America Consumer Products, L.L.C. detected a potential safety hazard in a limited production run between April 16th - May 7th 2003 of the following Toshiba television models; 50A62, 51H83, and the 57H83. Toshiba is pleased to announce that there have been no incidents reported.

As a result of the early detection, Toshiba contacted the vast majority of consumers who purchased the affected units. If you have spoken to a Toshiba customer service representative since May 19th, then this safety notice does not impact you.

If you purchased one of these models: 50A62, 51H83 or the 57H83 before April 16th, 2003 or after May 30th, 2003, then your television is not affected and this safety notice does not impact you.

Toshiba is pleased to announce that all 50A62, 51H83 and 57H83 units currently at retailers are not affected.

To determine the model number of your television:

  • Please check your sales receipt.
  • Please check your owner's manual to see if you recorded the model number.

How to determine if your television 50A62, 51H83 or 57H83 is affected:
